The Role of an effective and proficient English teacher to graduate qualified ESL students

Abstract

This qualitative research has been explored factors affecting English language learner performance and teacher effectiveness. Specifically, it has been investigated key elements impacting English language teacher effectiveness and learner proficiency, grounded in established theoretical frameworks and prior research. The study has been aimed to understand how to enhance the English language teaching process by addressing challenges originating from teachers. It has been provided a clear definition of an effective teacher and clarified the meaning of "effectiveness" within language instruction. Furthermore, it has been elucidated the characteristics of effective language teachers and presented a comprehensive understanding of professionalism and teacher professional development. It also has been explored teachers' perceptions regarding the qualities of effective English language instructors and outlined concrete steps for impactful professional development initiatives. Furthermore, it has been identified common challenges in teaching English effectively faced by educators and have been proposed practical remedies to overcome these obstacles. Finally, it has been concluded with recommendations for the Ministry of Education, advocating for systemic interventions that influence policy, resource allocation, and national strategy to cultivate a culture of continuous learning and excellence among English language teachers.

The effectiveness of flipped learning strategy

Abstract

As technological advancements continue to revolutionize teaching, the use of technology in both college/university and classrooms is making flipped learning a trending instructional model. The roles and responsibilities of instructors and students often require a new or enhanced skill set where the instructor designs intentional learning experiences to engage students outside of the classroom. This research was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of flipped learning strategy to overcome the educational communication problems. Also, it has been explained the definition of the flipped classroom and its impact on course evaluations and student outcomes. Besides, it has been discussed the comparison between the flipped learning strategy and the traditional way of teaching. As well, it has been explained some advantages and disadvantages of the flipped classroom. Above and beyond, it has been mentioned the most important critiques against the flipped leaning. More to the point, it has been shown some steps to implement the flipped classroom strategy. As well as, it has been presented some reasons of why should be flipped our classrooms. Ultimately, some important recommendations have been given to guarantee an effective learning in the education process.

Teaching Business English for Libyan Employees (The employees of the Libyan Foreign Investment Company in Gharian)

ABSTRACT


 

The research was conducted to investigate the importance of teaching Libyan employees business English and to show the problems that face Libyan employees in using English language skills or business skills and all of that in order to verify the hypothesis which said that the employees in L.F.I.C in Gharian have communicating problems with clients who speak native English because what they have learnt was not enough to apply in real life. A literature review to the nature of teaching business English has illuminate different perspectives on the subject which helped to set out the background of this investigation. In order to investigate this problem data were collected by using questionnaire and test technique that involves the employees of the L.F.I.C. Results and findings indicated that the employees need help to learn more about business English skills. Also, it has been found that the employees had depended on their experience to answer the test. In addition, they can only improve their business English if teachers use the suitable methods and manipulate appropriate teaching techniques to be able to succeed in their company. Although this study has elaborated on various issues regarding teaching business English for Libyan employees, indeed further research is needed in future to understand the nature of teaching business English, hence the employees’ competence can be improved effectively and efficiently.
